Description

Moomy on the Mano is a hand-pulled intaglio print inspired by a small moment of childhood wonder: discovering the magic of making music at the piano.

Each print was inked, pressed, and pulled by hand without a press, then individually painted with watercolor, making every piece in the varied edition its own unique work of art. Differences in color, texture, and detail are part of the process — little traces of the hands and fleeting magic that created them. I have done my best to represent the colors accurately in the photos, but the colors you see on your screen may vary ever so slightly from what you see in real life. Originally created as a small edition of 11, with several prints gifted to family and loved ones before the remaining pieces were released.

A celebration of curiosity, creativity, motherhood, and those ordinary moments where a whole new world begins to open.

Each Piece:

• is handprinted and painted on 8×10″ paper ready for framing (frame not included)
• is titled, signed, and numbered as part of a varied edition of 11 (or as a variant 1/1 in the case of Child at the Piano)
• is a one-of-a-kind original work of art printed from a matrix etched by hand

Inspired by my daughter Rosemary, who calls herself “Moomy” and enthusiastically refers to the piano as the “mano.” Each print in this edition was pulled from the same intaglio plate and individually colored by hand, creating eleven unique variations of a tiny musician discovering the magic of making music.

Child at the Piano — One-of-a-Kind Variant
A single dark-haired variation created from the same plate but set apart from the numbered edition. This unique print reimagines the moment beyond the original inspiration, celebrating the universal wonder of a child discovering music for the first time.
